Gravelo Birthday Party

Celebrate our 1st Birthday with all-day fun, music, refreshments, vendors and more! Open to all, and dogs are encouraged!

Overnight Bikepacking Trip, May 14

Calling all adventure cyclists — join us for a group ride overnight trip into the heart of Pisgah Forest! There’s no cost to join, just RSVP with Chris and bring your gear. Please email chris@gravelo-workshop.com with any questions, to RSVP, and if you’d like to carpool from the shop.

Packing List

Total miles=64 (32/day), Climbing =6000’

Social touring pace, about 4.5 hrs riding/day.

DEPARTURE

  • 2pm from Gravelo Workshop OR

  • 3pm from past North Mills River Campground, across the bridge

The route leaves from North Mills River Campground area and makes its way through Pisgah Forest to the north side of Looking Glass Rock and down to the fish hatchery. We’ll climb up and over Glouchester Gap to a campsite in the Cathy's Creek area. The next day, we loop back through Brevard for brunch, to Davidson River campground, and over to Avery Creek Rd. before taking Yellow Gap Rd back to the car!

Route will be provided before the ride, and our experienced ride leaders will have emergency GPS messengers.

BVRNR Bikewerks is doing a route take over!

Meet at Gravelo Workshop at 6pm, ride leaves at 6:15.

Let’s chase the sunset to a view.

No drop ride but expect some hills and maybe even a little dirt. Who knows?! What could go wrong?

Bring a light, helmet and a beer for some mid ride hangs.

Total miles=60 (30/day), Climbing =6000’

Social touring pace, about 4 hrs riding/day.

This is a group ride and overnight camping trip into the North Mills River area of Pisgah Forest. The route leaves from Gravelo Workshop and makes its way through Asheville to the Blue Ridge Parkway and into Bent Creek. We will climb up and over Bent Creek Gap to a campsite in the North Mills River area.  

The next day, we loop back through the North Mills River area to Bent Creek and over to the Hominy Creek Greenway. Then lunch in the River Arts District, and back to the shop! Route details (navigation links and GPS files) will be sent after you register. Our experienced ride leaders will have emergency GPS messengers.
